Dr. Scott Robertson, MD, FACOG, is a gynecologist at Willis Knighton Urogynecology and Reconstructive Surgery Pierremont. He treats a wide range of sensitive conditions using current technologies and minimally invasive procedures.
For younger patients, these range from annual exam screening and contraceptive management to pelvic pain and endometriosis treatment. Treatment of endometriosis can involve surgery, medications, and frequently, both.
For women in their 40s, perimenopausal symptoms, bladder incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse begin to take the forefront in terms of patient concerns. Because these concerns progress on a continuum throughout a woman’s life, it is important to listen carefully and anticipate these issues. He believes that spending time listening to patients is the only true way to identify and correctly treat their concerns.
Dr. Robertson also provides evaluation of postmenopausal symptoms and hormone replacement therapy (HRT), including pellet HRT.
Dr. Robertson has 25 years of experience treating women with pelvic organ prolapse. This frequently presents as urinary incontinence (stress and urgency), trouble emptying your bladder, pelvic pain, painful intercourse and/or trouble with bowel movements. These symptoms frequently worsen over the years and are accepted as normal aging or the trade-off of having children. While both factors may play a role in advancing pelvic prolapse, that does not mean patients must suffer from it. Dr. Robertson evaluates and provides both surgical and nonsurgical treatments, when appropriate.
The calm atmosphere of Dr. Robertson’s clinic incorporates the option of select spa services. A relaxed environment makes it more comfortable for women to discuss their overall health and well-being. He feels gratified helping women find relief after perhaps a years-long search for solutions.
Dr. Robertson attended LSUHSC-Shreveport School of Medicine before completing his obstetrics and gynecology residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. He is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) and he is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (FACOG).
